Welsh School Capacity
Every authority in Wales has to set its September 2009 admission number using the new method of calculating capacity set out in Circular 09/06 “Measuring the Capacity of schools in Wales. We can help to make this process easier and more accurate
The capacity calculation is carried out using two pieces of information; the size of each space and its type classification based on Circular 09/06.
An accurate CAD drawing is the best source of this data.
The drawing will need to have each space measured and drawn and the correct room usage indicated. The information must then be entered into the spreadsheet issued by the Welsh Assembly and each room listed in the correct category (light practical, large, etc.)
We have developed software which will read all the data from a CAD drawing which has been correctly attributed, enter it into the spreadsheet and automatically assign rooms to the appropriate space category.
Using a CAD drawing in this way means that there is no scope for keyboard error in getting the data into the spreadsheet. If the drawing s correct then the spreadsheet is correct. It also maximises the return on the cost of producing the drawing
